What is organisational culture, and why is it needed?
Organisational culture is who we are and how we behave, both with others and when no one else is around. A common culture based on strong values is necessary so that our community can function, progress, and grow, ensuring that everyone shares a common understanding and direction, as well as a place to always come back to and rely on when clarity is lacking.
Organisational culture is like glue that holds the community together, and the stronger it holds, the greater our potential for growth.
In the Comity community, we create a daily environment where we recognise, encourage, and support not only our team members but also everyone else. Our strength and the key to our success lie in being a united community whose members respect and protect each other.
The following 10 points serve as both – the foundation for creating Comity and a lighthouse that shows the direction, guiding back to the right path when needed.
Enjoy reading and warm welcome to the Comity community!
We have respect for everyone.
We talk about things as they are.
We keep our promises.
We focus on opportunities and solutions.
Instead of condemning, we try to understand.
We gossip, but only with kindness :)
We are the biggest fans of others' success.
Instead of overthinking and drama, we ask questions.
We create an environment for personal growth and development.
We stick together, help, support, and protect one another.
1. WE HAVE RESPECT FOR EVERYONE.
We are a united team whose members respect and protect each other. We treat everyone with courtesy and respect, regardless of someone's status, achievements or goals.
As much as there are different people, there are also different opinions and worldviews, but that does not change the fact that we are all equal as human beings. Also, there is always something to learn from absolutely everyone, so the more open and humble you are, the more you can grow as a person.
The number in a bank account does not make anyone better than others, nor vice versa. It's just that people have different goals and objectives for their lives, and so it also varies how much someone is willing to invest their time and energy in achieving them. Whatever someone's decision and preference is, we honour it and treat everyone with respect.
You don't have to love everyone and you don't even have to like everyone, but you can always be human and behave nicely. A person who can respond to negativity with positivity is a mentally strong and confident person.
2. WE TALK ABOUT THINGS AS THEY ARE.
If you want to build something big and lasting, you need a strong foundation, which can only be created through trust. And trust can only be created through honesty, talking about things as they are.
Yes, sooner or later we all make mistakes, but what matters is what we are going to do with those mistakes. It is possible to learn a lot from mistakes, but for this it is necessary to first admit them and apologise if necessary.
Moreover, admitting a mistake is not a sign of weakness at all, but on the contrary - it shows courage and gives an opportunity to correct one's mistake, since most sincerely admitted mistakes are forgiven.
Being the person who is included in building the foundation and set as an example, at some point you will find that there are other similar reliable people around you, because like attracts like.
At the same time, just one lie is enough to cause a crack in the foundation, which can eventually destroy the entire foundation along with what was built on top of it.
So know that the truth is always enough and if you are not sure what to do or say, just be honest and talk about things as they are.
3. WE KEEP OUR PROMISES
The word matters. If you promise something, no matter how big or small that promise is, stick to it.
A promise is a responsibility that you undertake, and others take into consideration. Therefore, think carefully before making any promises, and if you have made one, always strive to fulfil it to the best of your ability.
If you see that there is no way you can keep your promise, be honest and inform others immediately so that they don't waste their time considering what you have promised.
Whether small or big, a promise is a promise, and your reputation depends on whether it is fulfilled or not, influencing others' decisions on whether they want to continue working with you.
This, in turn, directly affects how big a team you are able to build.
Do you want to stand out in today's world? Just keep your promises.
4. WE FOCUS ON SOLUTIONS, NOT PROBLEMS.
It's easy to complain how hard something is and how it's everyone else's fault. At the same time, the biggest changes in both life and business begin to happen from the moment we take responsibility for our own lives.
One important thing that separates successful people from everyone else is their attitude. They understand that instead of blaming others, it is more important to look in the mirror and ask yourself: "What can I do about this?".
We all have different problems in our lives, but the question is what we do with them.
So we don't complain, play the victim or talk about how hard everything is and why it happened, but we choose the way of successful people and immediately start looking for solutions. Solving every problem makes you stronger and brings you closer to your goals.
Many want to change the world by starting with changing the world. Few realise that changing the world starts with changing yourself. So, if you want to change the world, first change yourself and see how the world around you will also change.
5. INSTEAD OF CONDEMNING, WE TRY TO UNDERSTAND.
Everyone can condemn, but very few can or try to understand. Thus, one of the greatest skills you can acquire is to put yourself in another person's position and try to see the given situation from their point of view.
All people are different, and the past that has shaped them and influences today's decisions is also different. Since you don't have a complete picture of someone's past, you can't fully understand anyone's decisions or actions. However, you can try to understand enough to avoid immediate condemnation.
Why is it crucial to think multiple times before passing judgments? Because judging someone is generally based on opinions and assumptions, and drawing conclusions on this basis entails great responsibility, as it damages relationships and creates a negative environment.
6. WE GOSSIP, BUT ONLY WITH KINDNESS :)
Words have the power to destroy or create, so we choose carefully which words we use and how. We don't spend time gossiping and being negative about others, instead we are busy living our lives and making our lives and the lives of others better.
In order to move forward in life, you need to create a positive environment around yourself through your thoughts, behaviour and attitude, and understand that the words you use about anyone else, in fact, characterise you the most.
Therefore, if you want to succeed in life, you cannot afford to gossip about anyone, because this is one of the lowest ways to deal with situations. Instead, let your words encourage, support and inspire both in the presence of others and when talking about them behind their backs.
When you focus on recognising and uplifting others, it works as a magnet that attracts successful people. Why? Because successful people know that in an environment where each other is uplifted, everyone wins.
While the most used word in the world is 'I,' the most powerful word in the world is 'You'. So always choose the positivity and recognition of others and see how the negative and envy-filled world around you starts to change.
7. WE ARE THE BIGGEST FANS OF OTHERS' SUCCESS.
If someone is doing well, we don't envy them, but we feel joy and sincerely and wholeheartedly support everyone's success.
Positivity creates positivity, success creates success, and cooperation creates so much more value than competition.
The more successful people there are around you, the more successful you will be. Even if not immediately and directly, the environment full of successful people that you are in will shape you in one way or another over time.
In addition, those who sincerely cheer for others, feeling happy about their success, are positive and self-confident people.
8. INSTEAD OF OVERTHINKING AND DRAMA, WE ASK QUESTIONS.
If you don't know, ask. If you are not sure, find out. There is too much lost trust and broken relationships in the world simply because, instead of speaking directly and openly, people fill the gaps in their minds with assumptions and information heard from others.
If a situation or someone's behaviour seems different to you than usual, or if you find that someone has done something wrong in your eyes when piecing things together in your mind, don't start generating and creating different scenarios.
Most misunderstandings become clear right away when you communicate directly and openly with the parties involved. So, go, talk, ask directly from the source, and explain how the situation seems to you."
9. WE CREATE AN ENVIRONMENT FOR PERSONAL GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT.
There is only one thing in the world that is stronger than us and that is the environment. Environment is what shapes everyone and everything over time. If the environment is not right, what we can do is to change this environment, or create a suitable environment ourselves.
The environment is not only the things around us but also the actions we do and the thoughts we think. For this reason, we carefully choose what our actions are and evaluate whether they are compatible with our values and plans. We also monitor our thoughts to see if they are positive and focused on opportunities and solutions.
We choose very carefully what topics we discuss with the people around us. Are they forward-looking, oriented towards growth and value creation?
All of these are things and activities that we can control ourselves on a daily basis. This is how we can create an environment for ourselves and others where people begin to grow and develop.
10. WE STICK TOGETHER, HELP, SUPPORT, AND PROTECT ONE ANOTHER.
Our strength and key to success is that we are the team that sticks together the most. We are one company and we all have a common goal. The more we stick together and support each other, the stronger we are, the further we can go and the more we can make a difference.
If you aim for great and long-term success, you need to see a bigger picture than just those activities that create immediate and direct benefits only for you and your team. If you can help or support someone from other teams, do it. You never know when you or someone from your team might need help that only someone from the outside can provide.
A healthy competitive moment is always good and welcome, but at the end of the day we are all building the same business globally. In short, we are not competing with anyone, not with each other or with other companies operating in the network marketing landscape, because each of them is different in one way or another and speaks to different types of people. So, in order to make it easier for you to do business, there is no point or need to belittle other companies or their members.
In the field of global network marketing, the same logic applies as in our business, that is, by mutually supporting each other and speaking well of each other, everyone wins.
The more we do this, the easier it is for all of us to build this business. How so? One of the main reasons why many look down on network marketing is because some business builders choose to tear others down as a way to build their business.
This is a situation that we can change together. This is very easy to do when you understand that we are not competing, but we are all in the same boat together, where everyone's actions affect everyone else.
We can collectively choose to cooperate, which will move the boat quickly and efficiently towards success, or we can choose to drill holes further away from us, to the other end, hoping not to sink the whole boat that way.
What and why do we do?
In the world, there are frequent situations where the weaker are bullied, and people are ruthlessly taken advantage of for personal gain. It is sad to see those who have more power and resources than others not using that position to do good, but quite the opposite.
The reason why we are in such a state in the world is primarily because people either lack values or, even if they have them, do not stand up for these values and are willing to sell themselves and those around them for greater personal gain. The result is deceived and disappointed individuals who have lost faith that anyone could be sincere and kind.
Our desire is to restore this faith in people and humanity, and through real actions, show that honesty, kindness, and justice have not disappeared from the world.
Through Comity, we aim to be a confirmation and an example that there are people, companies, and communities that uphold their promises and stand for their values, words, and people. Our goal is to expand such a value-based community into a global one.
Yes, we know that for many, it may initially be difficult to believe that there is a community where people genuinely stand up for each other. A community where everyone can feel safe, where not everything is for sale, and where values are the foundation. A community where people prioritise relationships and promises, where words matter, and decisions are made primarily for the benefit of the community, not for the sake of money.
Promises and backbone
It's easy to throw around beautiful words and promises, but it's an entirely different matter to act on them every day. Most companies and communities have proud slogans, and many individuals make grand promises that are advertised and proclaimed.
At the same time, the reality behind these promises is only revealed during difficult times when tough decisions and choices need to be made. And the question here is not whether those challenging times will come but when they will come, as life goes on, and always will, with its ups and downs – after every rise, there comes a fall, and vice versa.
Therefore, the world needs more people with backbone in every field. Backbone to stand in front of people upright even when things haven't gone as planned and the courage to speak about things as they truly are. Backbone to choose community and values even when there's an opportunity to make money at the expense of others. Backbone to respect agreements and stick to one's words and promises.
We know that when people genuinely stand up for healthy values, the entire world becomes more humane. In other words, to bring about a complete transformation of the world, all that is needed is a commitment to strong values and the determination to stand up for them at any cost.
Is money not important then?
Don't misunderstand the previous discussion. We're not saying that money is not important; quite the opposite – money is very important. The question is simply how to prioritise money in one's life. When we come back to the root cause of why we are currently in the situation we are in globally, it is primarily because money has been placed as a number one priority.
The situation where, for the sake of money, people are willing to go over others, over values, over promises, over loyalty, changes when the pursuit is no longer just about money but about creating value and standing up for those who cannot stand up for themselves.
It's also important to remember that in general, money doesn't change a person; it amplifies who they already are. So, it's perfectly okay to earn money and a lot of it!
The key question is how it is earned. Is it through products and services that harm people's health and consume their time (which unfortunately is a growing trend), meaning it is done at the expense of others for personal gain, or is it done by creating value for others?
However, let's be honest – many do not choose the path of building something sincere, honest, and kind simply because it takes significantly more time while most people are looking for quick ways to get rich, regardless of the consequences they may cause to others in the process.
The power of community and collaboration
The world needs more companies and projects whose purpose is to create value and help people, not just to earn money. Those who step over others to make money are one of the reasons why everyone else has to work harder. But together, it becomes easier, and as we expand every day, the overall amount of sincerity and kindness also grows.
At this point, you can take pride in yourself because you are an important part of what we are doing globally. Know that the best thing you can do is simply be yourself and influence people around you towards improvement because there are many good and sincere people in the world, but a significant portion of them lack the opportunity or strength to take action and make a change.
That's why we have created the Comity community, where everyone who resonates with our values and with what we are doing is welcome to join. Together, we can create and achieve what would be impossible alone.
